  • You seen these family members fight ?

Apart from that joke Chris , has anybody ever seen Peter Eubanks, Simon Eubanks, Frank Eubanks, Bobbi Joe Edwards or Chris Jnr fight ?

How about Joe Frazier Jnr ?

How about Roy Jones Snr ?

How about Judah brothers or Zab's dad ?

    I found the families here : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Notable_boxing_families

Floyd's uncle was a good fighter. None of those other guys were anything special. Joe Frazier's son got dusted in one round by Larry Holmes and Mike Tyson, which isn't TERRIBLE but isn't good either.

I had seen the Roy Jones Snr. and Marvin Hagler fight. Hagler tore into his ass. Jones snr. was a fighter that liked to throw hooks way to much. The Judah brothers are good fighters, especially Daniel Judah.

Peter and Simon were the 'pugs of money men' that used them as fill-in opponents for a boxer who fell ill before a bout, they were not paid handsomely. But both were very good fighters, both did well at London ABA's fighting out of the Peckham ABC,I knew a guy called Paul McKenzie(Duke McKenzie's cousin) who sparred with them and said they were wasted by the pugs.

Peter and Simon travelled to Brighton to turn pro out of the Jack Pook gym. Chris Eubank used to spar with Paul McKenzie during the period 1986-87 if he was in Peckham,or if he was in Brighton he would spar with his brothers or Leigh Wicks.

Don't you mean Marvis Frazier? He was an exceptionally good amateur beating Tim Witherspoon,Bonecrusher Smith,Tony Tubbs and Mitch Green but when he turned pro Joe tried to reform his style into more of a brawler. Marvis had good defence in the amateurs and was stylish, but Joe became his trainer and tried changing him in the pros which wasted him.

Peter Eubanks was pretty slick, he had no amateur career to speak of whereas McGuigan had won the Commonwealth Games and gone to the Olympics, yet he out-boxed McGuigan quite clearly the first time. We saw what he could produce when he had time to prepare as he completely out-boxed Hector Frazier, out-boxed Terry Marsh at times and almost jabbed Mo Hussein's eye out in one round, and those guys were top prospects and they were fights where Peter actually had a camp for. However, he and his brother became victim of the skullduggers in early 1986 where they started taking fights at short notice and losing because they weren't prepared.

Simon Eubanks had started boxing before Peter, he had a lengthy amateur career and while never becoming a London champion he was often 'up there'. Like his bro, he became victim of the skullduggers early in his career in early 1986.

Bobbie Joe Edwards (Eubank's cousin) was an all-out slugger, very limited but he'd give anybody a good workout. He was also taking fights at short notice like his cousins Simon and Peter, but unlike Peter Eubanks for example he wasn't much of a prospect.

Hector Frazier was in a similar mould to his father, but would often (or almost always) lay on the ropes just bobbing about and looking to potshot (this is what I gathered from the fight with Eubanks).

Roy Jones Sr was very 'left hook happy', shall we say. He threw more left hooks than he did left jabs (way more, infact).

I think it's pretty dumb though that Pete was used like that, because he was clearly in my eyes quite a good prospect! If I was a manager, I'd of wanted to try and make a success of him!
