  • Comments Thread For: Miguel Cotto: I'm Enjoying My Last Few Months in Boxing

Former four division world champion Miguel Cotto is still going forward with his plan to fight two more times before retiring from the sport. The first fight is scheduled against Yoshihiro Kamegai on August 26 at the StubHub Center in Los Angeles, California. The vacant WBO junior middleweight world title will be at stake. Cotto is happy to be back at the Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles, training under Freddie Roach's tutelage

I can't believe HBO is going through with this fight. They should move it to after the ggg/Canelo fight.

This is what I'm watching the 26th. If it ends early I will find a stream of the floyd fight, or just hit the city.

Idiot still didn't change the date of his fight. Nobody will be watching that Cotto fight except for broke bums who can't afford PPV.

Cotto doesn't care how many people watch his stay busy fight, and hbo is happy to annoy Mayweather I'm sure. This is a better fight for free.

I don't think his cut of the purse depends on viewership...so he's really not the idiot among the decision-makers.

Is Miguel Rivera under the influence when he does these articles?

He's always getting fighters records wrong, he had Kamegai's record wrong and now he has Machado's record wrong. SMH, before writing these articles get your espresso coffee in Rivera.

Anyway, seems like Cotto has been changing his mind a few times on when he will retire. First we heard this was his last year, then we heard that because of the delays with setting up his fight this year that he may fight into 2018, now again it's he's enjoying his last few months in boxing and seems to be retiring at the end of this year.

Well, whichever fight or fights are your last ones. Hope that they are memorable, entertaining and worthwhile. Good Luck Champ

Personally, I just don't give 2 ****s about that ppv, except for the salido vs Davis fight. I order everything cause I love boxing but I'm not supporting that scam. I'm a big cotto fan so I can't miss his fight anyways.
