  • Prichard Colon is in a vegetative state (very sad)

    http://www.espn.com/boxing/story/_/i...attered-dreams

Prichard Colon breathes on his own, but that is the extent of his independence.

Doctors describe his condition as a persistent vegetative state. He is unaware, unresponsive and under his mother's 24-hour care.
Happened to Mago, Eddie Gutnecht and now Colon. Very, very sad.

Colon's parents say they have not lost hope that their son will regain some brain function, despite doctors giving them no cause for optimism.

"I do believe in miracles. I do believe in miracles," said Richard.

"Every time I go into the room," said Nieves, "I expect Prichard to say, 'Mom' -- I expect that word, 'Mom.
    '"

He is an example of why rabbit punches need to be penalized every time, and disqualifications need to be handed out for them judiciously.

Almost every fighter who died or ended up like he did was in a rough fight where they received many blows to the back of the head.

      It's very dangerous.

Damn, was really hoping there'd be better news by now.

Amen to that. It's so more tragic when it could have been avoided. Hope his family are compensated.

yeah but if he would have quit all you fa990ts would have said he is a quitter.

when a fighter gets severly hurt you all say "oh thats sad" but when a fighter quits or runs away you POS say he is a quitter and all they do is run because they dont stand toe to toe when badly hurt.

bunch of 2 faced fa990ts on here. ****** ducking boys.

Rabbit punches are illegal but, IMO, these kinds of injury doesn't happen overnight. There could be some hard sparring prior to the actual fight.

Certainly, and I think his fight schedule had a lot to do with it.

He fought 5 times in 2015. Even though they were against lesser opponents and some were tune ups, you're still going to take punishment to the head. Not to mention the constant weight cutting, and sparring in between. His last 3 fights were all in a span of 2 months.

They should've looked out for him better.
