  • What Was Mike Tyson's Natural Weight?

Let's say Tyson never entered boxing and had just lead a regular life. He never did any muscle training but still stayed in a healthy condition. What do you think he would weighed between the ages of 20 and 30?

The reason I ask is because people tend not to take Mike's weight disadvantage against most opponents into consideration when assessing him. Mike came into the ring heavily bulked up. Proportionately, Tyson put on more muscle than the vast majority of boxers.

I think Mike's natural weight would have been as little as 185 lbs at 20 to 195 lbs at 30.

    Naturally he was a flyweight

At 14 when he was knocking out grown folk he was like 80 pounds.

I also speculate that if the Klitschko's were anorexic they would have been middleweights.

Mike Tyson is built to be a Heavyweight. That's the weight he's most comfortable at. He was 200 in his physical prime but his natural weight is probably around 220-250

How can you tell me he's not a heavyweight when he could punch with any of the hardest hitting heavyweights of all time.

We're not talking about David Haye, Thomas Adamek or Steve Cunningham here, who should have stayed at cruiserweight, we're talking about the former Undisputed Heavyweight Champion of the entire World.

He would often come in the ring under 220 and that was with a lot of added muscle.

The chart at the link below shows the what weight men of various heights should be. Mike Tyson was 5'10. The heaviest a man that height should be is 180 lbs (we're excluding bodybuilding here).

Mike was 190 pounds of muscle when he was 14. No matter what he is naturally over 200 pounds. Later in life Mike was at 275 between fights.

He was 200 lbs plus as a teenager. His natural weight was probably 240-250. He had to really work to come in at 222 or less. Mike didn't lift weights. His muscles were a result of his natural powerful build.

Mike blew up to over 300 pounds in retirement before becoming a vegan.
