  • Why dont more boxer try to box like Ricardo Lopez?

Curios to know why most people training in boxing dont really try to pick up ricardo lopezes boxing style?

Dude has PERFECT balance, he is never off-balance,great footwork, great punching power/scary left hook and solid hand positioning.

I always try to pick things up from ricardo but thats just me, other guys in the gym want to copy and be the next hamed, mayweather, tyson,Roy Jones jr but the way I see it is, guys like roy jones are way over athletic for the average trainee to copy.

I dont know man, seriously, I think Ricardo Lopez has the most sound style of boxing when it comes to copying other boxers...

You mean Nacho Beristan style of boxing?

Nacho trained Finito, and guess who fights just like Lopez a bigger version? Juan Manuel Marquez, another guy who fights like Lopez and Marquez is that kid who beat Brian Viloria.

This is the only style that can defeat Manny Pacquiao and gives him hell because it is the matador style of boxing, no blocking with the covered face, you step back and counter or side step like bull fighting, Nacho taught this style and its why its very effective against aggressive boxers but you also must be patient and brave because its a risky style since you rarely play defense and use offensive counters as your defense similar to bull fighting. No holding, no covering up, just footwork and counter combos.

Lopez did it all he wasn't just a counter puncher. Lopez was aggressive as hell you need to re watch his fights and Lopez style was devolpe by Arturo Hernandez who trained nacho

Why dont basketball players play like MJ?

          BECAUSE ITS HARD!

Some athletes have years and years of training and not everybody gets there

If i'm honest, I don't like his defense and the way he throws punches. It did him good for 50+ pro fights but I don't like it. I like Marquez's version of the style much better, despite Marquez having "losses".

I just watched this highlight video:

Just look at his stance, the way he throws the straight right and the left uppercut. Very similar to JMM.
