Round 4 is by far the best Fight Night. I could fight with the boxer's actual style and be successful. I was outboxing opponents with the jab with fighters like Malignaggi or Klitschko, and attacking with fighters like Tyson. FNR3 was a bs game that relied on haymaker punches to win fights. FNC fights always have a ton of knockdowns and end in quick KOs, the boxing styles are nonexistent, and the stamina is bs. The graphics are amazing, but the gameplay is ****. I need to get Round 4 back.

As for the fight night series, Champion is probably the best. However like others have said, the footwork is absolutely awful.
Fight Night Round 3 is the worst of the bunch
This is better than Fight Night?

You don't just have to play as a skilled counter puncher, you can also play as a boxer who comes forward and throws a ton of punches however you have to make sure that you are making your opponent fight at a higher tempo and backing him up against the ropes.
Fight Night Champion isn't actually a bad boxing game, if I'm going to be frank most people who have a problem with the game have a problem because they are crap or impatient.

Champion is the best in my opinion... It just shows that they progressed and hopefully the next one will be even better...
I haven't played for since Champion came out, so I can't even really gauge it, I just know that I had some complaints about 4 that they seemed to have fixed for Champion (not all but some)... I don't even remember what they were
3 to me is just too VIDEO-GAMEY... The parrying system, although fun, was unrealistic, and the invisible wall prevented infighting...
If they found a way to reincorporate a more realistic parrying system than it would be great
3 had the best career mode though... Mainly becuz there was a bit of a story behind it, while 4 and Champ its just sign to fight, train, upgrade, fight, repeat... Very boring... It would be sweet if they incorporated the MEDIA into it... Fight hype level and all that, and especially build ups to rivalries... And as long as they make the difficulty setting match up with the rivalry, It'll be fine

Ive had pretty much the majority of boxing games for teh last 20 years from super punch out on the snez, The nintendo Wii'ds poor attempts, to victorious boxers on the ps1 right through to fight night champion.
Of all the boxing games Ive ever played there is a clear winner - Fight night round 4.
The reason it it is better that the game that preceded it and it preceeds is, round 3 relies too much on haymakers and is abit slower so the controls dont react as quickly. Fight night champion is beatuful to look at but the gameplay is non existent. I clocked it the 1st day I had it and havent gone back since. Fnr4 though is a regular that gets played atleast once a week.
I doubt it will ever be topped.

Round 4 is the best, but a couple things that piss me off is how difficult it could be to land that one last punch when you got em hurt badly, and how easily the computer can parry and throw a haymaker.
FNC is complete Garbage. I like the soundtrack though.

To great a proper challenge you need to go online.

I've never played the first FN but it looked really good from what I saw. R2 too much Haymaker BS.. R3 on PSP is simply a good boxing game although I'm not crazy about the parrying. It makes it look unrealistic because a boxer does not drop both hands in real life after being parried. The console version doesn't have enough knockdown animations to make for a great sim experience.. FNR4 is perhaps the best of the lot but I've been having a lot of fun with Champion, lately. It has a more arcadey feel to it especially Story mode. Fighting Frost and those far-fetched situations(you must knock a guy down twice to progress) is sorta ridiculous but I enjoyed it in the same way as Punch Out! back in the day.. Also, I'm not able to put combinations together the way I like a lot of the time. There is a lag when I try Mike's Right to the body followed by right uppercut or his Right Body Hook Left to the jaw combo.. I'm sure the next one will be better. Lets hope for another Victorious Boxers, too..
