  • How do boxers get paid?

I am talking about like after a mega fight like Pacquiao/Cotto or Mayweather/ Molsey are they paid in lump sum or over a long period of time paid gradually?

Mayweather gets paid in cold, hard cash, delivered to him at his mansion door in bullet-proof trucks in special suitcases.

Well the companies will have the money from the subscribers, tickets sales etc, so i'm guessing it would be big fat cheques to the promoter who then passes his share on to the fighter.

If it is a successful PPV the money lingers in for awhile. Arum was saying that about Clottey yesterday.

I know a fighter gets their guarantee right after the fight. And I read on one of the news thread were Bob Arum said that he keeps sending Joshua Clottey Money every month because the PPV did well, so I'm assuming that's the way it works with most fighters.

THey get paid over time. Hardly anything or anyone is paid in lump sum. The money doesn't come in that quickly, so it can't be distributed that quickly.

However, the bigger the total sum, obviously, the bigger the checks are.

Considering about 3% of money in the world is actually physical. They all get the money straight to their bank account.
