  • Comments Thread For: Oleksandr Usyk-Daniel Dubois II needs a new narrative

Although both Usyk and Dubois have their charms, the two heavyweights didn't exactly bring the pre-fight fireworks of Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier during a recent interview promoting their rematch.

Nothing ever really happens at these events anyway but in this case you'd go out of your way not to push Usyk too hard. Usyk is the last dude in boxing you'd want to fight outside of the ring. He trains in Judo, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Sambo, freestyle wrestling, kickboxing, and even bare knuckle. All Dubois can do is box, and Usyk already proved he's way better at that too. Dubois knows damn well he doesn't want any part of Usyk in a no-rules fight.

Hrgovic sucks, Joshua is washed, and Miller is years removed from his last win against anybody good.

Usky v Parker might be one
              Let's examine some facts:

His orbital went against Joyce at a time when Joyce was good and still had his chin & jab. Call it a quit or not.

Against ATG Usyk he lost what was a pretty good fight. Quit off a jab or not, it was a pretty good fight.

Before that he was knocking nyukkaz the fuqk out, only one he didn't was Kevin Johnson who was soooo very difficult to KO.

              Oh yeah & he's a talented, hard-hitting HW who's not even 28 til September.

                Timing & maturity.
Joyce, Dubois was winning the fight & up on every card but his face broke. Hrgovic & Miller, who've they ever really beaten? Aj the same he's truly a hypejob that's never beaten a prime elite heavyweight & made a career beating shot old men.
Usyk is the greatest cruiserweight & heavyweight of his era & a true hof once in a generation fighter. I like Dubois but even at 38 Usyk has his number.

Not expecting it to be very competitive. But only 3 guys have really earned the shot - Dubois, Kabayel and Parker. Kabayel looks to be the greatest threat but as Bob Arum used to say, that one needs to “marinate” more. Get Kabayel a bit more exposure to casuals.

Hard to imagine Usyk getting KO'd off Dubois tbh. Maybe 90k at Wembley will for 4 or 5 wild rounds but after that it's all Usyk.
