There's a lot more than just physiology that gives you a good chin. People who have a somewhat "crazy" mindset, a "vicious" mentality and adrenal glands that can release more cortisol/ adrenaline during fight or flight mode will be MUCH less prone to being knocked out. Your brain, your mentality and your body's natural response to releasing high levels of adrenaline are just as essential to your ability to maintain consciousness as your physiology. Some people have such high levels of stress hormones that they're unable to be rendered unconscious as easily as naturally more sedate, relaxed type of people. Sleeping doesn't come easy in a tight white vest....CubanGuyNYC likes this.

As far as physical features, I believe the main part of 'chin' is something we can't see with the naked eye. It's the space between the brain and skull, for some people there's not much space for the head to shake around as much(or the skull is thicker making the space smaller, I do not know exactly) that's why they don't get knocked out as easily.
Look at Oliver McCall and Marvin Hagler, GGG too. There is nothing special about their skulls, in fact that they seem to have smaller heads, no big jawlines etc. I could maybe make the argument that their heads look "compact" but other than that I see nothing remarkable.
The Fluid around the brain has something to do with it as well, that's why we see fighters get knocked out more easily when they're cutting too much weight as the brain gets dehydrated as well getting rid of the fluid that helps as a cushioning effect.Last edited by BKM-; 04-25-2025, 02:00 PM.
