  • Comments Thread For: Sam Jones says Regis Prograis is ideal for Jack Catterall

After the dust had settled on his victory over Josh Taylor, Jack Catterall and his team sat down to plot his next move. There was no thought about dialling back the level of opposition and waiting for a super lightweight world title opportunity to present itself. Instead, Catterall, 29-1 (13 KOs), and his team were determined to maintain the momentum created by the exciting win over his bitter rival and set out to secure the most attractive fight they could.

Prograis main problem is how inconsistent he is, but he's best when his back is against the wall.

Caterall might have bit off more than he can chew here. Prograis ain't no washed Linares.

Regis people said he’s about to pull a rabbit out of an old ass hat! Then they said Sike.

Prograis had started well against Zorrilla, then the fight became dull mostly because of the latter's negative tactics. Against Haney, undoubtedly, Regis had an off night.

I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, and I'm picking an upset here. As John Lydon would have it, I could be wrong, I could be right.

I have Prograis winning this fight, but he will have to be able to dictate a good pace, jack got tired when he won against josh and got economical.

          Could be a draw.

Catterall lost against Josh Taylor last time out, though he did win the first fight clearly. Two bad decisions. Prograis best days may be behind him and unless he can get into the pocket with Catterall, this might end up being a straightt forward win for Jack. I'd say I'd like to see yhe winner rematch Josh Taylor, but sadly I think Taylor is washed up and should retire.

Easy pickings for Jack Catterall. First, unlike Josh Taylor; Regis Prograis is not an inside pressure fighter.

His style is very similar to Jack’s. For the exception that the Rougarou could punch.

Both guys can box. They are both natural outside fighters. However, Catterall is not a washed up fighter like Regis is.

He will have more room to operate because Prograis is not an inside bruiser like Taylor who likes to fight on the inside.

Prograis doesn’t know how to press.
