That has been made clear by every fighter who do these kind of things. Then, look at the nations of those fighters who do this en mass. I'll give you a clue... They're both in North America. No other nations are doing this.
Fighters don't come out and say I will fight that guy but I want him weight drained, its a managerial part that explores making the fight, its not yes no, its dialogue, what Im saying is fighters, for the most part, are fighters that want to fight, they are generally coerced easily, fighters no doubt can stop the process, but they are not the instigator of the process.

I think fighters see CWs etc differently than the way fans see them, fans see it as cheating and a ready-made excuse, I think Floyd spoke a fighters true feelings when he was asked by a reporter why are you having this CW with Canelo, and he answered " because it will make the job easier " , that's real talk, he ever said anything about oh he is bigger blah blah. just straight up said how it was.

And Im not saying your wrong in all this, I hate all CWs because of the built-in excuse it creates and the handicap is there, but they are not all equal, a CW can be poles away from another depending on where on that sliding scale is the fighter on fight night. we can all assume but true is nobody can say the effect of CW until it's fight night and the bell rings.

Well before any fight happens, you only have to listen to the fighter and what they come out with before any fight will take place. You can see how reluctant they are. They're not told to be that way. They're just like that naturally. It goes on for years so you get a perfect understanding of who they really are. They can't hide from it. Regardless of how ****** they may think people are.

        • ryan garcia has been fighting at 135 a long time. does he really have to weigh more than 148 to beat tank?

if garcia was told last minute then sure its cheating but he was told 2 months in advance and agreed to it. its a negotiation.

they used to weigh in same day. now they agreed to no more than 10 pounds rehydration... how is that agreement cheating on tanks part but its not cheating if garcia came in 20 pounds more?

              • I agree but Garcia agreed to all that.

Given what the stipulations are, it looks like Tank and his team saw the desperation in Ryan and took advantage of him. This will be a big L for Ryan Garcia all around, and it will be a learning experience for him going forward.

Big L from the negotiations to fight night. He got completely taken advantage of and DLH should know better as he knows what happened to him vs the smaller Pacquiao.

                • Props to Garcia for taking the fight with concessions. ALL great fighters have had to accept concessions

                  Props to Ryan

And shame on you "boxing fans" for calling him ******. If he didn't concede, there would be no fight. Let's just enjoy this event and stop complaining so damn much about everything.

He may not be that big per se, but he’s 5’11” and in 2021 he said his walk around weight was 150lbs, it must be heavier now. Not an exaggeration at his age and height, that he now walks around 160. If that’s the case, he definitely doesn’t belong under 140lbs. And a 146lb rehydration would be very detrimental to him.

On the other hand, bigger fighters should stop trying to squeeze down so much. It’s on them to make weight in a healthy manner. If he wants to keep fighting Lightweights to bully them and one of those Lightweights decides to restrict his weight to Lightweight size…that’s on him.

Not siding with either, just saying, yes Tank is showing he’s scared…but Ryan Garcia is also weight bullying at this point. They’re both trying to get an advantage over the other. But Tank isn’t allowing Ry to have that full size advantage.
