Considering how BIG GGG was in the off season, SWOLE, what was the highest WEIGHT he could go UP instead of draining for 160?

Knowing GGG manager through mutual business partners, GGG naturally walks around at 174lbs between fights. Most fighters in his weight class walk around near 200lbs. If GGG were an American fighter, he would have turned pro at 154lbs and could have made that easily. But that's not how the rest of the world thinks, they aren't in that mindset of jumping weights because they do not have to find loopholes to measure greatness like today's USA fighters.
Bottomline, GGG maxes out as a middleweight same way Floyd maxed out at 147 and was most comfortable there. Could he move to 68? Absolutely. But the question always was for who, and he challenged Carl Froch at that weight and was rebuffed. He broke George Groves ribs in sparring so no way was that fight ever happening. He was friends with Kovalev and beat him up in sparring so no way was that fight happening. Only option was Ward above 160, and Ward had not fought for 2 years and was clout chasing off his name as we all found out when Ward lied and admithd couldn't and wouldn't make 68 again . Check the interview with Ward before his fight with Bum ass Brand here on BS. Overall, GGG didn't play the game that USA fighters needed to play in order to hide their weaknesses and jump divisions to avoid the styles that would expose them. Staying in 1 division and never losing in the ring outside a very bad political decision is the rarest thing in boxing today.

He’s already filled at the weigh in and looking the same on fight night whereas as GGG looked like an Olympic Swimmer at weigh ins but then all slouched back filled on fight night.
the point is this guy exploited Bhop and Hagler’s run because Sanchez and Loeffler sold that idea to HBO and that was the expectation whereas GGG could’ve sought greatness at 168 and fight Ward.
I would like to have seen him go to 168 but that's boxing, fighters never do what the fans want it's all about the money, promoters and TV deals.Last edited by tonysoprano; 11-12-2021, 02:26 PM.

Haha shut up you clown, you clearly haven't seen a big MW in your life. Stay in your bedroom jerking off or stop talking ****. I put GGG next to Barkley or Nunn and then you'll see who is a big MW.
Of course they are 180 pounds you idiot that's what most pro MW fighters would cut to make their weight. Errol Spence walks around 180 and he's a ****in WW. Jarret Hurd walks around 190 and he's a LMW.
Try and learn something about boxing before you run your dumb mouth any more.
GGG a throwback to the days guys fought at their normal same day make weight days. No drugs needed to shrink down like Spence, Charlo, Andrade and all these frauds that found out how to take advantage of weight bullying.

They say GGG was 173 against Rubio… That rehydration was like Canelo from 152 to 165 on fight night for Floyd. As we hear the narrative, some fighters bring their power to higher weights, but it’s really a misconception when fans don’t know about draining. If GGG didn’t worry about cutting weight for 160 then imagine had he competed at 168? It means only cutting 5lbs of water in the Rubio fight instead of 13lbs. At the end of the day, imagine any other Olympic sport when let’s a sprinter like Hussain Bolt cute 13lbs the day before. LolZ. Makes no sense because it’s not boxing, and the Nigerian would probably make last place in the race the next day.
But I was meaning at the most GGG could possibly weigh. I think at that point, it would 100% effect his game.
GGG could probably weigh-in maxed for a Cruiserweight fight. But think about it. Usyk is 6'3" and was making 200lbs. He probably weighed 220 come fight night.
GGG on the other hand would probably weigh 200lbs and come to fight 205 at 5'10". There just isn't much more room on his frame to add weight (safely/comfortably/efficiently) at that class.
In my opinion but it's all just assumptions.
