DAZN production/commentary is absolutely terrible

First time watching DAZN show in a long long time and boy was I unimpressed. There’s almost zero excitement to the show. The commentators sound bored and unenthusiastic. One of them kept saying Liam smith over and over again I mean like come on man, how you get the name wrong a dozen times. It’s like they are half asleep when they are commentating, no emotion whatsoever.

As a uk guy, I remember watching hbo shows and thinking WOW. This DAZN is the complete opposite of hbo.

No way I’m watching canelo vs Saunders on this DAZN!! A big fight like that ruined by unenthusiastic commentators and production!

The production is awful, they kept saying ‘let’s go over to such and such and get there reaction’ and nobody talked, it was just silent. And there was some dude singing or humming in the background as well LOL. This is the most expensive boxing company isn’t it, you would never be able to tell!

Maybe the fact there was no crowd played a massive part but I don’t know.

this is true, the production is trash and the app is trash on google TV, it has to use the buttons on your remote in a different way than everyone else. Just copy netflix and youtube, dont do your own thing

Lol. “Production.” Algieri had to sub in for this fight because the regular team wassa bored. Tune into the “production” of 70k fans for Canelo vs BJs! As if that “production” would be like an Andrade event.

if you're in the uk then you were listening to Steve Bunce alongside Paul Smith, brother of Liam Smith. I don't remember at any point hearing Bunce call him 'liam smith' esp when he's sat next to liam smith's brother.

Not sure about smith, but Bunce is a BT sports guy who dazn are using.
So if it's in the uk, sky sports will do it here, but Bunce/smith will be on the US stream.

These guys are actually pro-queensbury. Bunce actually tries to throw shade at the matchroom fighters. the irony is that before Sky sports used to air matchroom US cards to the uk audience, but they would pick a Z list commentary team who would consistently hate on matchroom US/dazn fighters. this prompted dazn to just get started in the uk and take that audience (those of us who were subbed to sky sports so we could also watch the US cards). once that was done, i unsubbed from sky sports because the regular matchroom non-ppv uk cards arent worth paying for. if i must, ill find another way to watch those.

The other thing is, as it was a US card, the commentary team were in the uk, that's what caused the audia transmission errors.

the dazn commentary i hate are Mora, Mannix and Grisham. they are dog ****. Similarly espn's second tier commentator team, the female (shes quite nice, but shes a **** commentator) alongside Chris algieri.
this seems to be the new wave of commentators in the US. the non-offensive, generic tri-gender sounding idiots with scripted commentary and 'stats and facts' living inside their own heads. they say the dumbest things.

Steve Bunce is one of the very best. many rate him higher than adam smith. i prefer adam smith, but bt sports is better because they have Haye.
Dazn need paulie malignagi, haye and Bunce to take over.
