    I got punched there the other day sparring, i have felt really saw since, and had a bad headache

              well the part of your brain that is responsible for your vision is at the back of your head, so that may have somethin to do with it

                  Yep, that's why hitting to the back of the head aka "rabbit punching" is generally considered the worst foul in the book.

                    I'm just spitballin here but I'd imagine that the skull protects the brain quite well everywhere except the stem, which is located at the lower back of the head. So if you get hit hard there it may well be lights out.
