Average height for weght classes

  • Average height for weght classes

    i kno height aint everything but jus as a general reference, here is a list of the average height for various weight classes. I took the average height of the top 15 boxers in each weight class according to boxrec

    heavyweight (200+): 6'3 3/4

    light heavy (175): 5'11 1/2

    middleweight (160): 5'11

    welterweight (147): 5'9

    lightweight (135): 5'7

    featherweight (126): 5'7

    bantamweight (118): 5'5

    flyweight (112): 5'3 3/4

    minimumweight (105): 5'2

      So...what you're saying is...people that weight more...are on average bigger.

      Wow, I'm glad you explained that one so well.

      I was struggling to keep up at first, but when you explained the whole "height doesn't matter" thing, I saw the point you were trying to convey.

      This was important, because only when you truly understand what someone is saying can you assume all future opinions of theirs to be bullshit.

          Povetkin, Peter, Chagaev, Haye, Gomez, Ruiz, Ibragimov, Rahman and Chambers are all 6'3 or shorter.

          The Klitschko's, Thompson, Dimitrenko and Valuev are the only top heavyweights over 6'5.

            that wasnt my point. all i was doing was putting some numbers to it as a general reference so if you wana kno whether a certain boxer is tall or short for his weight

              Looking at some of the divisions, I think you'd get significantly different numbers if you averaged only the top 3 or top 5 at each weight.

              Generally the very best in the division are taller than their opponents... at least at the upper weights.
