  • Juan Manuel Marquez v. Floyd Mayweather

After watching this fight, i just got to see a Marquez v. Mayweather fight. I don't care that Mayweather is the bigger fighter he can come down to 140 easily supposedly so make it happen. I'd like to see how Marquez would handle Mayweathers defence and how much Marquez can score on Maywether and would like to see if Mayweather can land more then 2 punchs on Marquez and who has better distance of a fighter and see who can counter who better. The skill level of Casamayor v. Marquez was great, i just think Marquez v. Mayweather skill level would be even higher.

Marquez mentioned Mayweather being the #1 p4p fighter in boxing -though he's retired- and was probably go to say he was #1 but contrary to what the translater said, Marquez never said he was #1 but did say he and Casamayor came to fight a great fight.

Mayweather is much larger and even more skilled than Marquez, I just don't see it. Mayweather even has enough power to worry him - if Hatton could feel it JMM certainly would.

Mayweather is more skilled than Marquez defensively, Marquez is more skilled than Mayweather offensively. It is a dream matchup to say the least.

Casamayor's defense is not where it needs to be for a slickster IMO.

Also, he is not nearly as fast as Mayweather.

Although I would love to see a toe-to-toe, or at least something resembling a fairly high contact fight, Mayweather really probably would just box his way to a victory, throwing the right hand a lot and slipping what's coming back.

When is the last time you saw MM box his way to a victory against someone his own size?

You want to see how great a fighter was or is, most of the time you look at his first lose, at least i do and see what heart did he show, what will, did he give everything he had. All Mayweather has on Marquez is size and speed. I would like to see Marquez tested by a great fighter like Mayweather. That'd be the ulitimate boxing match. And it can be made -here i thought i didn't care about Mayweather but that Casamayor v. Marquez fight was great, neither guy ran, pin point accuracy and the one to make a mistake paid the price. Casa wasn't in his prime, Marquez is has lost a little bit of a step but they were both great this night. And Marquez took on one of the toughtest lightweights in his first fight, says a lot about him as a fighter and person -he has the balls to fight anybody and skills to compete against bigger fighters.

lets not go overboard, marquez looked good but the casamayor u saw was not as quick, as slick, or didn't have the power that floyd had.

mayweather by ud (9-3 or 10-2)

He used a ton of lateral movement against Hatton...

But even a few of his 130 fights he was boxing... Rios, Hernandez, Hernandez, etc.

I just can't imagine that he would want to mix it up with the most offensively prolific fighter in the game. If he did, shame on him for making victory so much harder for him than it needed to be.

Mayweather would win comfortably. He is the bigger man and JMM just doesn't have the speed to hang with him. Floyd by UD for mine.
