    How can fighters prevent cuts?

I know drying out drastically for fights makes fighters more susceptible to cuts due to the skin's losing moisture and therefore some of its elasticity. Would the inverse be true?

Seriously speaking here. Can getting periodic facials and taking certain skin moisterizers and other facial creams help certain fighters from getting cut? Would those creams help the skin retain its elasticity/moisture and make it more resistant to cuts?

I know currently they surgically remove scar tissue of old cuts but what other preventive steps can be taken?

having a good cutman in your corner usually does the trick. it depends on the guys skin. some bleed just from a light touch, others dont even swell up.

check wepner, henry cooper, jerry quarry used to get cut alot. but if they fought in todays era, it would have happened less.

having a good cutman helps. you cant change your skin

I know, they kept telling him, "block those punches with your face, son!" I always thought that was a bad strategy.

LOL, I know its largely due to a guys natural skin characteristics but just wondered if some of these skin and facial products could be used for boxers. So that even when boxers dry out to make weight there face wont dry out.

Jack Dempsey used to soak his face in bryne, or salt water.
