  • Muhammad Ali during his physical prime

Too many people seem to remember Ali as he was during his 70s years when he was older and softer, expecially when they compare him to a young Foreman who was a physical freak but Ali in his prime a finely tuned athlete up there with anybody.

    - -In 1970, Ali made his comeback age 28, traditional athletic prime years.

U saying he was washed up then?

For most of his big fights in the 70s I don't think he was in his athletic prime, his skills were still there and maybe improved somewhat but he always seemed a little soft in the middle from then.

By the late 70s he admitted he became too lazy to jog like he used to and relied on weight loss pills.

Ali was 1000x more athletic than that clod Joshua.

Ali wasn't past his prime at 28, he was coming off such a long layoff, and by the time he started shaping up he was already in his 30s. Had he kept fighting he would have still been prime vs Frazier.

If he wasn't in his athletic prime it wouldn't have been because he was getting 'soft in the middle'. A small amount of body fat is not the measuring stick.

Early in his comeback he could still do everything he used to(maybe not quite as explosive as before, but then again he was lighter pre layoff) even the bounce. But he could not sustain it for as long. The legs weren't the same anymore. The legs lost endurance.

U saying he weren't prime for Frazier at age 29 and two tuneups...priceless comedy!

He had three yrs and hundreds of rds of sparring all over the country honing his act injury free in his prime years.

                Just the facts, ma'am!

Guess them legs lost there bounce bed Terrell since he did no running for that fight that started as a brawl and lasted the 15.

U boys a collection of noobs never having seen a fight?
