Then you could have an average puncher he tags you on the chin when you dont expect it who puts you away just like that.
I've heard Teddy Atlas say that about Ernie Shavers, that he could punch through a brick wall, but wasn't the most accurate puncher and couldn't often hit the right spots or hit the target.

Was that true about Shavers, that he could hit hard, but wasn't accurate sometimes?

I just scored this fight recently (Duran-Leonard I), and I had it a draw. But the feeling I had as a whole was that Leonard edged it and probably should have kept his title.
      Lots of close rounds.

I'm a bigger Leonard fan than a Duran fan, but honestly I felt that Duran deserved it. It was a fairly close fight though, great heart from Leonard.....

I do feel that the Leonard from Duran 2 probably would have beaten the Duran from fight 1.

Leonard got beat, clearly! He also fought his best up to that point in his career! Duran taught Leonard alot that night, Ray didn't forget the lessons either!

I felt that Leonard showed more heart and grit against Duran, but more ability/skill against Benitez. But agreed, the loss to Duran taught Leonard alot......

I didn't see it that way at all. There were rounds in which Duran clearly landed the better shots on the inside and there were other rounds in which Leonard CLEARLY landed all the big shots on this inside. So, I can see how somebody can score it for Duran, but only very close. Anybody who has Duran ahead more than 2 points.....I don't quite understand it.
As I said, I scored it a draw, I know of other people who scored it for Leonard, and I have no problem with that.
Actually I scored 3 rounds even and marked another 7 rounds as "close", so it was overall a very close fight with close rounds.

There are bouts when a fighter wins 10 rounds in a row and there all closely competitive! He still wins!
I didn't say Duran won alot of rounds but to me he clearly won. There are very few "even" rounds in boxing most even rounds are when both fighters are doing NOTHING! Neither of these fellows were doing nothing!! Theres always something to seperate the winner from the looser. Ray.
