The only way Hearns had a chance was if he jabbed and ran. Hagler would never allow that.

MAIN issue. The bottom line issue. Hearns had poor wiskers whereas Hagler had an iron chin. In a war Hearns has no chance...he eventually gets hit and he is done. In a boxing contest again eventually Hearns gets hit...and he is done.

Nice puppy.. I agree with you. Hagler was unfazed by Tommy’s power sots. Broke hearts down. It just a case of hearns’ Best not being good enough.

Not so sure about being unfazed.
Hagler did clinch Hearns after those power shots landed from Tommy early in the first round.Did Tommy hurt him badly ? No, but Hagler admitted Hearns could punch so I'm inclined to believe Hearns shook him up just a little.

People ignore how many low blows Hagler delivered after that Hearns right.
Ref Steele gave many warnings--which is worthless w.o. a deduction.
Hagler fought very dirty that fight. Never gave a rematch.
Hagler was an ATG MW, but when he felt he needed it, he went low.
And that prob. had some effect on Tommy. Maybe w.o. that same ending but later in the fight.
Hagler up there with LaMotta, Chuvalo with an iron chin. Canelo seems to have this too.

So nice to hear. Props to Porlie too. I think this is one of the most overrated fights ever. The announcer plays a big part in selling it. He screams that Hagler is hurt, we don’t see it. It was a wild sloppy fight not sum amazing display of skill.

12 rounds against Hagler? Don't see Tommy making it to the end. He could be hurt to the body and Hagler was hitting him low to top it off. Funny how Hagler went 12 with Duran and Hearns destroyed Duran. Styles make fights as they say.

Actually Hagler went 15 rounds with Duran.

                    Good point.

I like Tommy Hearns much much more than I like Marvin Hagler, but I just think that Hagler was going to get him that night. Just too strong and solid.
