Unbeaten junior middleweight Danny Valdivia will open the 'Solo Boxeo' broadcast on Saturday night, Top Rank matchmaker Brad Goodman confirmed to BoxingScene.com in a recent interview.
Valdivia will face Gilberto Pereira dos Santos in an eight round bout at the Tachi Palace Hotel & Casino in Lemoore, Calif.
UniMas will begin airing the fight, along with the main event bout between heavyweights Andy Ruiz (28-0, 19 KOs) and Franklin Lawrence (21-2-2, 16 KOs), at 11 p.m. ET/ PT.
Valdivia (11-0, 9 KOs), who resides in nearby Tulare, has won his last four bouts by knockout. In his last bout on May 20, Valdivia stopped Miguel Angel Munguia in the first round in Phoenix, Ariz.
Dos Santos (12-3, 9 KOs), who resides in Goias, Brazil, has lost two of his last three bouts. Those two losses were to Luis Arias and Malcolm McAllister.
In an off-TV 10 round bout, lightweight contender Ray Beltran (30-7-1 1 ND, 18 KOs) is scheduled to face Miguel Mendoza (22-8-2, 21 KOs).
