Bob "Lionheart" Ajisafe is set for a return to the ring next month after being handed a shot at a version of the world title.

The former British light heavyweight champion, 31, will fight for the vacant IBO title, as part of the undercard to Deontay Wilder’s WBC heavyweight title defence against mandatory challenger Alexander Povetkin.

Ajisafe (16-2, 7 KOs) looks scheduled to vie for the belt in Russia, at the Megasport Arena in Moscow, with the show being screened exclusively live on BoxNation in the UK.

An opponent for Ajisafe, who is Leeds-based but Nottingham-born and fights out of the southpaw stance, has yet to be nailed down but is expected to be confirmed in the coming weeks.

His fight will feature alongside the WBA and IBF cruiserweight title unification clash between Denis Lebedev and Victor Ramirez, while Dmitry Bivol will challenge Felix Valera for the WBA interim light heavyweight title on a card on which Dmitry Kudryashov and Rakhim Chakhkiev are also a part.
