Former world heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko has once-again praised countryman Oleksandr Usyk.

Usyk defeated Daniel Dubois a second time on Saturday to once again unify the heavyweight titles, and Klitschko was impressed.

Usyk, now 24-0 (15 KOs), stopped Dubois in round five, dropping him twice and claiming the Londoner’s IBF title to become the undisputed champion, something he first managed with victory over Tyson Fury a year ago.

“Champ, @Usykaa you’re a true icon in the boxing ring,” wrote Klitschko. “This was a masterclass in resilience, highlighting the indomitable spirit of us Ukrainians who overcome strength through sheer determination and willpower.”

Usyk is now 38, and his recent success his come with his home country at war with Russia, making his victories all the more important for raising morale in Ukraine.
