Heavyweight contender Tyson Fury has achieved his lifelong dream of taking part in a pro wrestling match for the WWE.
Following in the footsteps of boxers like Floyd Mayweather Jr, Fury stepped in the ring with wrestling star Braun Strowman at WWE's Crown Jewel event in Saudi Arabia.
Fury won the match via count-out.
For someone with no pro wrestling experience, Fury performed a little better than expected. He quickly won the crowd by wearing traditional Middle Eastern clothing as he made his entrance for the match.
There were plenty of power moves by Strowman and Fury showed off a few wrestling tricks of his own, although a few were not exactly executed to perfection.
The contest ended when Fury connected with a big right hand, as Strowman was trying to get back in the ring. Strowman went flying backwards to the floor and sold the punch as if he was knocked out. Strowman struggled to get to his feet and ultimately was unable to re-enter the ring before the referee reached the full count.
As he celebrated his victory in the ring, Fury was attacked from behind by Strowman, who used his finisher - the power slam - to leave Fury laying in the ring.
Their feud began earlier this month, when Fury was ringside for a WWE Smackdown card, and had an altercation with Strowman. That altercation led to a series of televised angles to further their match - including an in-ring brawl.
Fury was trained for the match at WWE's Performance Center in Florida.
As far as his boxing career, Fury was in action last month - when he won a twelve round unanimous over Otto Wallin - but the contest was tougher than expected and Fury suffered two bad cuts above his right eye.
During the match with Fury, Strowman was careful not to strike the boxer around the area of the healing cuts.
Fury is now slated to face WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder on a date in February. Wilder will first make a voluntary defense on November 23rd, when he faces Luis Ortiz in a rematch at MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
