Former undisputed heavyweight champion Mike Tyson admits that he intentionally held back during his November exhibition clash with Roy Jones.

They fought to an eight round draw, with Tyson deciding to re-enter the sport after officially retiring back in 2005.

The contest generated big business on pay-per-view, with 1.6 million purchases.

Tyson is now looking to return to the ring in 2021, for another exhibition clash.

He indicates that his plan was to go the entire eight round distance with Jones.

But the next time around, he wants the ability to "go all out" and have the opportunity to end the fight with the distance.

"I felt better than I anticipated, I thought I would be a little more nervous than I was, but I was relaxed. I felt like 'wow' - I could do some more, I could punch more combinations, I could do this and do that," Tyson said on his Hotboxin Podcast.

"I said 'wow, this is interesting' and I want to do it again and I want to do it against someone I could go all out on. It made me interested in wanting to do it again

"I wanted to go the distance, I didn't want to knock anybody out, that's what people expected, but I wanted to go the distance."

The biggest fight for Tyson is a trilogy bout with another former undisputed champion, Evander Holyfield.

The two sides are still negotiating the details, with Holyfield recently making a claim that Tyson was stalling on finalizing the deal.

Holyfield shocked the world when he stopped Tyson in eleven rounds back in 1996. Their 1997 rematch made even bigger headlines, when Tyson was disqualified in the third round for biting off a piece of Holyfield's ear.
