According to a report in the Las Vegas Review Journal, a dispute between two volunteers at the Mayweather Boxing Club, owned by Floyd Mayweather, has led to murder.

Las Vegas Police charged Abdul Musawwir Mohammed, also known as Carlton Burnett, as the prime suspect in the shooting death of Baldy 'Randall' Smith.

According to the arrest report, Smith was shot early August 25 in or near Mohammed’s Las Vegas apartment and his body was later concealed under a bush and rocks in the California desert.

San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department deputies received a call of a man’s body on August 27, found just over the California border about a half-mile east of Interstate 15. The Police report says it was partially decomposed and had been shot several times.

Smith was still wearing a credential band to gain access to Mayweather-McGregor fight at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. For that particular fight week, credential bands, with built-in security chips, were issued to gain access to event functions.

Police found numerous Youtube videos with Mohammed and Smith, inside of the Mayweather Boxing Club, giving praise to Mayweather and discussing various boxing topics.

According to the Review Journal, police received multiple calls of gunshots about 1:30 a.m. August 25 near Mohammed’s apartment. One caller reported hearing two men argue prior to the gunshots. Police arrived but never found a crime scene.

They visited an address on August 31 to find evidence of a crime. They smelled cleaning supplies and noticed the front porch had lingering soap bubbles from a recent wash. Police also obtained phone records that showed numerous calls between Smith and Mohammed’s phones placed just before 1 am August 25 near Mohammed’s apartment. An incoming call to his phone pinged off a tower in Nipton, California, about 5:20 a.m., the report said, and an outgoing call 11 minutes later placed him near Jean, Nevada. Another outgoing call about 6:15 a.m. placed him back in the area of his Las Vegas apartment.

Mohammed admitted to police that he last saw Smith when the man visited his apartment on August 25.
