Vasyl Lomachenko's manager Egis Klimas has confirmed that plans are underway for the three-weight World Champion to return on December 1st in a Lightweight unification.

He looks likely to face the winner of Ray Beltran v Jose Pedraza on August 25th in Arizona, where Beltran makes the first defence of his WBO crown live on BoxNation.

Lomachenko became WBA World Lightweight Champion live on BoxNation in May, after stopping Jorge Linares in nine rounds. However, during the fight he tore his labrum when he dislocated his right shoulder which required surgery.

Klimas told The Boxing Beat on ESPN+ that Lomachenko is healing well: "I spoke with the doctor and the doctor said it was a good surgery. So we're looking to get him back on a checkup with the doctor.

"As far as the future, I just hung up [the phone] with Bob Arum and the plan is Beltran is fighting Pedraza on August 25th and the winner [is] gonna be unifying titles with Lomachenko on December 1st," he added.

Earlier this week Beltran said that he has "the advantage of the size and strength" over the Ukrainian and believes that he has the power to hurt the pound-for-pound star.

Should Beltran face Lomachenko, the winner would hold the WBA and WBO belts at 135lbs. The other two belts belong to Mikey Garcia, who unified with Robert Easter Jr over the weekend.

Fans will be hoping that a mouth-watering four-belt unification between Lomachenko and Garcia will take place in early 2019.
