Kell Brook will continue his busy schedule with a mid-March showcase in his home city of Sheffield. Eddie Hearn has told BoxingScene.com that the opponent, venue and date will be revealed in the second week of January during a press conference featuring both fighters.
Brook joined Matchroom earlier this year, he has since racked up wins over Lovemore N'dou, Rafal Jackiewicz and Luis Galarza, in Kell's US debut, and looks likely to move apace during 2012.
Gareth Williams, CEO of Hatton Promotions, recently told me that Matthew Hatton has been negotiating with Matchroom through his manager and father Ray. Indeed, a Brook-Hatton meeting would give 'Special K' the opportunity to add a former world title challenger to his CV; 'Magic' would view a bout with Brook as a chance to force another world title shot. Brook, though, has plenty of options. Matchroom have kept their cards close to their chest amid persistent speculation over their young contender's next move, a clear sign that the 25-year-old former British titlist is fast becoming one of Britain's most talked about boxers.
