Sheffield’s Kell Brook is just ten days away from making his first appearance on American soil when he fights Luis Galarza at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City on the Ward v Froch Super-Six undercard.
The 25 year-old, who has a perfect 25-0 record with 17 stoppages, is looking forward to fighting in one of boxing’s most famous venues on a huge bill and is aiming to prove his credentials to an enthusiastic US audience.
“It is a dream come true for me to be fighting in America,” Brook told thestar.co.uk.
“I have dreamt about this moment since I was a young kid. Only good things can happen to me from now on in.
“I’m not going to let anyone down. I’m going to do Sheffield and Britain proud. I’m going to go out there and put a great show on. They love their boxing in America. People say when you’ve cracked it out there you’ve made it so I want to show them my skills and what I’m all about.
“My time has come and I’m going to grab it with both hands.”
US-based Puerto Rican Galarza, 29, has two defeats in nineteen pro bouts so far and topped former world title challenger Paul Delgado over eight rounds in his last fight in July at the Buckland Theater.
It should be a routine win for Brook though and a chance to show the fight fans across the Atlantic why he is constantly linked to fights against revered world names such as Andre Berto and Amir Khan.
The contest takes place on the undercard of stablemate Carl Froch's unification battle with Andre Ward in the final of Showtime's Super-Six super-middleweight tournament and is live on December 17th at 9pm ET/PT. UK viewers can see the bout on Sky Sports 1.
