Middleweight contender Daniel Jacobs (34-2, 29 KOs) has no problem with facing Jermall Charlo (27-0, 21 KOs) in the very near future.

Both boxers were in action last month, on different dates, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Jacobs won a tough twelve round unanimous decision over Maciej Sulecki in a WBA final eliminator, while one week earlier Charlo destroyed Hugo Centeno in two rounds for the vacant WBC interim-middleweight title.

Jacobs and Charlo had words earlier this year, at the Brooklyn venue, and the two boxers have traded words on social media.

Jacobs found it disrespectful that Charlo called himself the 'King of Brooklyn.'

He wants to get Charlo in the ring to settle the issue regarding which of them deserves that moniker.

Gennady Golovkin holds both the WBA and WBC titles - and he's likely facing Canelo Alvarez in the fall - which leaves both Charlo and Jacobs in the hunt for a big fight.

"The disrespect which took place with him calling himself the 'King of Brooklyn' and all of this other talk behind stage. This is my city, this is my hometown, I'm the king of Brooklyn. I you want that title, you know what you have to do for it. I want to fight Charlo to make it clear," Jacobs told BoxingScene.com.

"He didn't call me out after his last fight. I was waiting by the TV and waiting to hear something, but there was nothing. At the end of the day he wants the titles, that's the goal for all of fighters. Everybody wants the belts, everybody wants to be unified champion of the world, but those fights are kind of hard to make right now.

"If [Charlo is] a potential fight that can happen in the near future, I'm down for it. Even if it's my next fight - I want it."
