FORMER IBF, WBA and WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch says he will happily begin contract talks with Jake Paul if he beats Tommy Fury in Saudi Arabia.

Froch has emerged as a surprising potential opponent for Youtuber turned professional fighter Paul, who will face an actual boxer for the first time when he takes on Fury.

Paul has so far fought another Youtuber, a basketball player and three former MMA fighters since he turned his hand to the sport in 2020.

But Froch, now 45, would represent his first opponent to have ever held a boxing world title.

The ‘Cobra’ has not boxed since he knocked out George Groves at Wembley Stadium in May 2014 but has made no secret of his dislike for Paul.

And, speaking on BT Sport Box Office, Froch has now confirmed he would be willing to talk seriously about a potential clash with Paul depending on the result against Fury in Saudi.

“I’m ready,” Froch said.

“Listen he speaks well to get the headlines but the reality is that Jake Paul wouldn’t step in the ring with someone like me.

“He has a job to do against Fury first but If he’s serious about it, get the contract over to me and we can take it from there.”
