Former two-time world champion Paulie Malignaggi returns to the show to join Chris Algieri and Coach Robert Garcia to talk about Tyson Fury’s promotional situation, Gervonta Davis vs. Floyd Schofield, Diego Pacheco’s return, Albert Bell Facing Andy Cruz, Lewis Crocker vs. Liam Paro, Sam Goodman vs. Ryosuke Nishida, plus Coach Garcia dishes on the latest on the Bam Rodriguez vs. Naoya Inoue super fight and the crew fields your viewer comments.
“Tyson Fury talking about naming his promoter as Turki Al-Sheikh...,” said Algieri to open the discussion, “essentially, what he was saying is that… (his)… The Gypsy King’s promoter until I retire will be Turki Al-Sheikh, which is a little funny because Turkey's not actually a licensed promoter. So, this essentially means that Dana White is going to be promoting Tyson Fury moving forward. And Paulie, I'm glad you're here because Coach and I talked about this yesterday. Do the fans really care? Does it really matter who promotes Tyson Fury as long as we get the AJ fight?
“I think people just want to see the right fights,” Malignaggi answers. “I think people are a little less inclined about the politics than we are. Sometimes we have a little bit of borrowed opinions on the politics of things in a way we prefer things to go and not go. But ultimately, if fights get made, everybody's happy and especially the fans, right? … As long as they get the fights, that's more important to them. The good thing is that Turki Al-Sheikh does help make the fights happen…”
