Arnold Barboza had a night to forget against Sean McComb

His split-decision win on Saturday, April 20, as the co-feature to Haney-Garcia left a stunned Brooklyn crowd booing in the Barclays Center before the main event.

The result was not popular with those in attendance and the outcome caught the attention of some fighters who Barboza had called out in the past, including Shakur Stevenson.

“Arnold Barboza should never mention my name,” tweeted Stevenson on the social media app, X.

Another fighter who Barboza has angled for a fight with is former two-time junior welterweight world champion Regis Prograis, who tweeted the following observation.

“Barboza has to do something to change this fight around. He might be losing so far.”

Stevenson responded with a quote tweet to Prograis’ tweet revealing that he felt Barboza was losing. When the outcome of a split decision went the way of Barboza, Stevenson was to the point and simply said, “Robbery”.

Former IBF featherweight champion Billy Dib joined the conversation when he stated the following: “Barboza better stop calling people like @ShakurStevenson and @TeofimoLopez out. Nowhere near that level.”

Prior to facing McComb, Barboza had tweeted that he was willing to fight Shakur Stevenson at the junior welterweight limit. Stevenson is the WBC lightweight world champion and is eyeing a return in July.
