At the Palais des Sports Porte de Versailles, in Paris, France, undefeated Hassan N'Dam N'Jikam (25-0) won a twelve round unanimous decision over Georgia's Avtandil Khurtsidze to win the vacant WBA interim middleweight title. The scores were 117-111, 115-114 and 115-114. N'Dam was cut above both eyes from head clashes. Khurtsidze did well in the first few rounds, but he only found success in the second half of the fight in minor spurts and spent too much time clowning around. He tired in the final quarter of the fight and allowed N'Dam to pull it out.

"He is a formidable opponent and he came here to win," said N'Dam. "He is very small and I received a lot of headbutts. But I did my job, it was a fight between a bullfighter and a bull."

WBA interim world cruiserweight champion, but fighting as a heavyweight, Steve Herelius (21-1, 12KOs) won a unanimous eight round decision over battle tested Roman Kracik (31-5, 17KOs). The fight took place five pounds above the cruiserweight division.
