Alvarez may not be the best boxer in the world, but we have to give him credit for fighting dangerous opponents, he doesn't cherry pick. Not many have the balls to do this

First it was Angulo... yes believe or not new boxing fans there was a time where fans thought Canelo would never face Angulo and that Angulo would destroy him in 2 rounds. Hmm sounds familiar...
Then it was Kirkland after he destroyed Angulo in Cancun, it was the same thing. See above...
Then comes Austin Trout, I gotta give it up to the fans they got really creative with this one. That Canelo would never face him, Trout will make him look silly in the ring, Canelo should stay as far away as possible, bad style match up, etc.
Then comes Erislandy Lara... and same as above.
Here we are today with the new flavor of the month... GGG. And it's the same thing all over again.
So why after all these years are people still saying that Canelo will duck fighters?
That's why

Whether you like it or not the middleweight division is 154.1 and up to 160 lbs plain and simple. Nowhere does it say you have to come in at exactly 160.
155lb limit is a catchweight.
If Canelo wants to weigh 155lbs the day before the fight and then rehydrate to 173lbs, that's his business.(dumb as ****)
Golovkin will weigh in at or under 160lbs the day before and rehydrate to 170-172lbs
Canelo can't force Golovkin to weigh in at 155lbs too. He can offer money for a CW, that's between his team and K2/GGG.
There are no CWs in a title fight unless both sides come to some agreement.
If Golovkin says no CW, then Canelo has to fight at 160lb LIMIT(MW division) or be stripped and duck his mandatory.
Why is this so hard for you people to understand?

Canelo will have to pay for that catchweight, if not or if K2/GGG doesn't agree to it then it's fight at the MIDDLEWEIGHT limit(160lbs) or be stripped of his MIDDLEWEIGHT(160lb LIMIT) title and duck his mandatory.
Again, if Canelo wants to weigh in at 155lbs the day before, that is under the MIDDLEWEIGHT limit(160lbs). No one is stopping him.
Golovkin will weigh in at or under the MIDDLEWEIGHT limit of 160lbs.
Canelo can't force Golovkin to a fight at 155lb limit.
He seems intent on fighting at a 155lb CATCHWEIGHT, not defending his MIDDLEWEIGHT title at the MIDDLEWEIGHT limit(160lbs)

From ESPN Deportes:
"Ahora es una pelea mandatoria, y si Canelo dice que quiere pelear en 155-156 libras, es algo que podemos negociar, pero ahora la pelea es mandatoria en 160 libras, entonces no habría razón por bajar."
"This fight is mandatory, and if Canelo wants to fight at 155-156 pounds, well that's something we can definitely negotiate, but for right now the fight is mandatory at 160, so really there's no reason to go down." - Loeffler

You're basically agreeing with me. My problem is with the people that are saying that 155 isn't within middleweight division. When it is. Besides Golovkin and K2 just said they are willing to negotiate at a lower weight.

Canelo wants to fight at a limit of 155lbs. That is a catchweight.
That's what people see because it's what Canelo says.
The best thing he could do is when asked, just say that he will fight GGG and not say anything about the weight instead of negotiating in public.
