Former WBC/WBA junior middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (42-1-1, 30KOs) has a lot riding this Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Canelo will face dangerous Alfredo Angulo in the main event of a Showtime Pay-Per-View card.
If Canelo wins, Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer would like to match him against the winner of the June 7th fight between Miguel Cotto and WBC middleweight champion Sergio "Maravilla" Martinez.
Cotto was going to face Canelo last April, but the fight got derailed when Austin Trout upset Cotto in December 2012. Canelo fought Trout instead and win a close twelve round decision.
