Dan Azeez, the former British, Commonwealth and European light heavyweight champion, will return to the ring on the June 15th undercard of Chris Billam-Smith-Richard Riakporhe II at Selhurst Park.

It will mark a quick turnaround for the 34-year-old, who lost for the first time as a professional in February to friend-turned-rival Joshua Buatsi over 12 rounds in London. Though Azeez was beaten on points he gave a terrific account of himself along the way.

"I'm looking forward to getting back in the ring," Azeez, 20-1 (13 KOs), said. "This is my job and I wear this sport on my chest like a badge of honor.

"I'm ready to put the graft in like I always do to prove I belong at the top of the sport. I always aim for the top and I'm excited be part of a huge stadium show in south London, where I am from!"

The show's promoter, Ben Shalom, added: "It's great to see Dan Azeez back in the ring so quickly. I know he will have learned a lot from such a great fight with Joshua Buatsi.

"He has become one of the country's most popular fighters and now I expect him to be well equipped to right to the top of the division."

Also on featuring on the June 15th undercard is Isaac Chamberlain who challenges Michal Cieslak for the European cruiserweight strap and Ben Whittaker - often linked to a future bout with Azeez - takes on Ezra Arenyeka.
