Former champion Amir Khan is currently training in California, with his coach Virgil Hunter, as a lucrative fight with WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. looms for May 3rd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Last week Mayweather posted an official poll, where fans were allowed to select his next opponent. Only two choices, Khan and Marcos Maidana, were presented. Khan's social network followers powered him to victory in the poll.

"Myself and my team have been getting constant calls and messages about my next fight since winning the Floyd Mayweather poll. Would like to Thank all the fans who voted for me on the Floyd Mayweather poll, just waiting for him to announce the fight now."

Khan believes his lightening quick hand and foot speed will be the difference against Mayweather. He released a minor big of footage, which shows him and Hunter working on throwing very, very fast combinations to catch Mayweather.
